Linux Which version of ffmpeg for XBMCBuntu

It would be very good to have multithreading support, especially for those people who have a good multi-core CPU but a poor GPU (and obviously I'm one of them) Undecided!

I just saw the most recent post on the website about 1080p Hi10p:

Quote: Users are reporting that 720p video appears to be at least workable on your lower level CPUs, but any expectations for silky smooth playback on something like the NVIDIA ION platform will almost certainly be met with disappointment. With that said, if you are currently running a fairly powerful machine, XBMC is finally ready to play your anime.

Boo!!!! Does this not speak to the importance of getting multi-core FFMPEG to work with XBMC? VDPAU does not (an nvidia claims they have no plans to) support Hi10p decoding in GPU, and it seems a huge waste to be only using one core of two and one thread of four that my CPU has to offer. I watch my video struggle at 8FPS while top shows 100% utilization on one core and zero on the other three Sad
