so when i goes to shutdown XBMCbuntu, it doesn't turn off the computer but it goes into the ubuntu desktop login screen. How do i fix this so it actually shutdown when asked.

I'd have to putty in with the command "sudo shutdown -h now" to shutdown.

The shutdown function should do whatever is set in Settings > System > Power Saving. Some skins also present a "Power Off" option in the Shutdown menu in addition to the "Shutdown" option

HTPC 2 - Zotac ZBOX ID41U | 4GB RAM | 60GB SSD | Openelec | Confluence
