Using Harmony to start XBMC
#1
Although I've been able to figure out everything else using dozens of searches, I need a little extra help. My setup:
Linux Mint (Ubuntu) 12
Harmony 600
XBMC Eden
Using Windows Media Center SE (not MCE Keyboard)

The computer itself is always running, so I am not trying to do anything tricky like Wake from LAN, etc. Literally all I'm trying to is figure out how to startup XBMC when I "power up" the "Watch XBMC" activity. I saw a post that you can use Win+1 to start in Windows, but that isn't working for me in Ubuntu.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to solve this seemingly straight-forward challenge?

Not sure if this is what you are after but have a read. I have a post on page 7 on my setup and how I start XBMC from my remote.

You want to start xbmc with remote on a mint desktop?
I am not sure what the status is in current mint/ubuntu but it used be done with irexec

Perhaps like this (I have not read this guide myself, just first hit on google)

I don't use it anymore as I start xbmc directly in the display manager without a window manager.
If you do not use the desktop that is the best way. On ubuntu it is made available by installing the xbmc-standalone package.
