I've got XBMC live installed and I want to use my old XBOX DVD remote with it. I have a USB adapter and it is detected in my lsusb.

I verified that the remote does indeed work on my xbox. So this doesn't appear to be a hardware issue. I heard a rumor that this remote should work out of the box with XBMCLive.

I can verify it does work as my dad's HTPC is working just fine with the xbox remote and dongle with XBMCbuntu.

I followed these directions and it still didn't work. My remote sends a ton of signals per button press until it stops and i have to wait about 2 minutes before it even sends another signal, only to send like 4 per button press. ultimately i made the best investment of my life and bought a 15 dollar mce remote and receiver from amazon. rest in pieces xbox remote...

That worked thanks!! The remote buttons do seem a bit fast. But nothing I can't get used to.
