Short-Circuit vs Mini-Box (for picoPSU purchase)
#1
So through all my research on here, I've seen people link to both Mini-Box & Short-Circuit.com for pico purchases. I took a look at both sites and I see absolutely no difference in the products/vendors except a huge price discrepancy.

At mini-box:
http://www.mini-box.com/picoPSU-160-XT-1...-Power-Kit it's $76 with free shipping

At Short-Circuit
http://www.short-circuit.com/combo/premi...-acdc.html it's $94 + $12.60 for shipping and handling.

Now am I missing something here? Is the one at short-circuit somehow superior and I'm just a complete dufus for missing it? Otherwise, I would consider this a suggestion that you buy this stuff from mini-box as they are ridunculously cheaper.

I will say that I had some chats with Carl at SC and he was pretty awesome. However, awesome customer service will get you my biz if the cost is close, but this wasn't one of those cases.

I found Carl super nice to deal with. SC is super competitive on the BASE price of individual picos, but they are not competitive on the BASE price for kits. Meanwhile, MB has free shipping where SC does not.

I've found better prices by buying the adapter and picoPSU separately.

Though, admittedly, now I get all my AC adapters direct from China. I have 12V 84W AC adapters that'll fit the picoPSU -- perfect match for the picoPSU 90 and 90-XLP.

Hello,

We are in the process of lowering our prices to meet or beat mini-box.com's.

This was a very sudden move by mini-box to lower their prices so drastically and we were caught off guard.

We will also try to meet or beat any price you see elsewhere.

Thank you!

- Carl

I simply want to add that I've ordered off eBay from short-circuit and my experience was great. They have more cool mini-itx stuff than just picoPSU.
