Release Universal Scraper for Music Albums
Probably we should parse the search results both with "only official" and with all the rest and prioritize official...

I have an error message after opening XBMC today.

Universal Album Scrpaer Update failed!

Tried a Force Refresh on XBMC.org repo but even if I try to manually update, I am still receiving the same error message.

How can I diagnose and correct this please?

Query Info For All Albums
Exceeding 500kb. Had to separate into 2 separate pastes

After rebooting, I reloaded info for one album that didnt have any info (except for whatever was in the tag). BTW, I had to try 2 or 3 albums before I chose one that was able to load info.

are there any errors here??

Just wondering; are you aware of the Cover Art Archive: https://coverartarchive.org/ ?

Since you already get Release and Release Group MBIDs from looking up the album on MusicBrainz, it is trivial to fetch cover art from the cover art archive too. I'm not sure how it compares in a lot of other respects to fanart.tv (I know I've added my share of covers to the CAA, which aren't to be found on fanart.tv, but YMMV), but thought I'd mention it so you could at least have it on your radar. I am running XBMC Android on Ouya through the XMBChub flavor. When I add my music to the library it won't scan correctly. Album reads fine on old XBMC platform. Albums reads fine on Jaangle. Anyone have a solution to this?

I am still having problems with the scraper causing XBMC to crash when it scrapes Trouble Will Find Me by The National. Can someone please take a look at these logs and let me know if there's anything I need to do on my end?

I am running the latest nightly of Gotham and having major problems with the universal album scraper. It seems to have a mind of its own, one time it might scrape just fine (finds everything and places it just fine) then the next time you scrape (nothing has changed file wise) and the scraper goes berserk and rips an album into 7 different albums all with one song each. Anyone else have these problems and know how to fix it. All of the scraper settings are on default.

Is it tagged with musicbrainz ID's possibly?

Also check any cue files

Yes they are all tagged by musicbrainz ID's why?

The music scanning has changed in Gotham to lookup from Musicbrainz if the tags exist in the files.

This will effect all kinds of things and may produce some unexpected behaviour due to the musicbrainz data being recieved.

Looks like your right. I thought that once your music was scanned, it only added something that it is new. Well I added one new album and now the scraper is scanning the database as though it it the first time and totally distroying the information (now have 5 copies of metallica enter the sandman - each with 2 songs each. Also lost albums
Edit: Think I have found my problem. Have been using Musicbrainz Picard for my tags and xbmc doesn't seem to like them. Redo the tags in another program, still using musicbrainz as the source for the tag information and xbmc doesn't have a problem (even though the tag information looks identical). Did a bit of research on Google and found someone else had similar problems back in 2008, but it doesn't say if they found a solution.

Its actually new really nice feature. The problem is Musicbrainz is very very accurate in how it classifies artists. So a single album with different contributors may be split up in XBMC.

It might be worth posting in this thread your experiences.

Hi. I've noticed a few of my albums not scraping, and believe it's down to bad tags. I've edited said tags, and attempted to update info, but the old tags are still being read. Are the tags cached? Persistentally stored? How can I forcefully read new tags?

Many thanks!
