Hey guys

I just set up my HTPC to startup with XBMC as shell.

But i cant figure out how to share my movies etc without starting up explorer.exe

Im using 1 computer to rip or download the stuff and then transfering it to my HTPC with windows' (usually) easy to use network sharing.
When explorer isnt active the shared folders and computer is not on the network.

Hope some1 can help me.

Could be permissions.

An administrator cannot access network shares created by a non-administrator.

TCP/IPv4 properties the same?

"workgroup" (IPv4) instead of "homegroup" (IPv6)

Mount a subdirectory of the network share instead of the share itself.

Try pressing WIN+R double backslash COMPUTERNAME example: \\htpc
That should show you all shared folders. (Universal Naming Convention)
