I orignal was running XBMC over Windows 7, but the licence expried (long story). So i rebuilt the PC as Xbmcbuntu which was fine no issues other than the play back volume is very low, I can boost it using the application settings but then I get static increase and does not make for good listening. Any sugestions how to fix this with a system sound increase?.

go to the console and type "alsamixer"

se if there are any of the volume that are set low, and sett it til 100%

then remeber to type "alsactl store"
