It worked fine, but you have to use this code "<hidexbmc>true</hidexbmc>" in playercorefactory codes "Another External Player Code, but Very Simple to Setup".....it is stutter when set to "false".......

>Alienware X51- do it all HTPC
>Simplify XBMC configurations
>HOW-TO Bitstreaming using XBMC
I refused to watch movie without bitstreaming HD audio!

That's good news -- gotta keep the GF happy! For HTPC, GFAF is just as important as WAF Smile.

Bluray (the user) is talking about actual image files of the 1080p bluray discs. Which can be more than 30GB / file. MKV's are video files that compress a bluray disc movie to a single video file, so MKV's are usually smaller. It can be ranged from 2GB to even 15GB.

Also, bluray (the user) is saying that it stutters in Windows. I am saying it doesn't stutter when I play MKV's in OpenELEC. OpenELEC is basically an OS on it's own if you dont know what it is.

When I said playback blu-ray in full 1080P, I meant 1:1 blu-ray ripped to ISO. If it is 1:1 blu-ray ripped, it is stutter on my E350......if it is transcoded to low bitrate using HandBrake, it is fine....

That G530/H61 systems is a great choice too -- it gives you a lot of options and much more horsepower -- for just a few bucks more.

I know......my Avatar is 49 GB (1:1 ripped to ISO).......if I convert it to MKV with just the main movie (which mean without all the extra features), it'll be smaller file......some of my kid movies, I used tsMuxeR to strip everything by muxing it to smaller m2ts file (w/ just the main video/audio/english sub)......

I have all of my media stored on a WindowsXP machine that has an OS drive and then 4x2TB drives that are dedicated to media storage. Currently I have the 4 drives shared and my wired Windows 7 HTPCs stream from these four SMB shares. If I go with a purely Openelec XBMC will I be able to connect to the SMB shares even though they are on a Windows box?

Yes. OpenELEC can access Windows SMB share.
