Hi,
Ive just installed XBMCbuntu (eden) on an.. old.. notebook.
Its a Pentium dual core 1.6Ghz 2mb ram integrated SIS mirage 3 video, 2GbRAM.
The goal is to watch photos/Videos (mainly 700kbps MP4) from a shared folder on a indows 7 PC over a wifi network. and conected via vga cable to a HD 1080 LCD TV
I've choosen xbmcbuntu looking for a fast bootup..
Setup ran well , wifi was on and download updates marked on..

But....
on XBMC (not on ubuntu screens) mouse cursor is awfully slow an sluggish,,,,
please tell how to configuree seccondary display resolution ( Iam new to ubuntu,, learning fast) and how to turn of primari display,, if it is possible in a permanent way, or always the tv is turned on..

and point me on how to configure xbmc to see the shared folder on windows
(I have WiiMC and can see theese files, just to rule out network and permission troubles)

Thanks a lot

well,,,
so far what I found is that Sis has no support for linux, I found an unoficial driver that fixed resolution adding a proper 16:9 matrix.

any way I have no control over what video output is being used. vga is cloned but not reported by (put here the command that reports outpus and resolutions)

cursor and xbmc is still unusable.

I am lost with network, smb is not seing it.

its been 3 days , the thread has 27 views and no answer...

I think I an going back to windows7, XBMCbuntu didn't boot that fast anyway.

MS Media Center solves most of my needs.
I am reallly sorry about not being able to make XBMC usable.
