Streacom cases (and clones) and slotin drives
#1
I falled in love with streacom cases (the f7c in detail) but i need to assemble a system with a bluray drive, and compatible drives are way too expensive, have you got any suggestion for a similar look case that can host cheaper bluray drives? Roughly the configuration will be:
a6-3500
8gb low profile ram
sata hd 1tb 7200rpm
bluray ray drive
picopsu asap ^^

If you know any case that look similar to it (alluminium, rounded, you know... Big Grin)
By the way i'm from italy so apologize my bad english, thanks for the help.

I think external bluray drives are much cheaper and powered by usb.

As you know, the problem is that there are not a lot of slot drives with an eject button on the left. I recently bought the fc5od, which needs one of these drives too (I bought a DVD drive, because of the expensive blu-ray drives you mentioned).
I heard/read somewhere, that they will possibly change this in a next hardware revision of the fc5od.
Maybe you'd like to send streacom an email and ask, if this applies for the fc7 too? Maybe you're lucky : )

Check this thread about an FC8 build: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=131088
There is one drive mentioned that might work, and which is definitely cheaper: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Sony-Blu-ray-...2851wt_905
(there's a pic in the article description, where you can see the front panel)

If that's nothing for you at all, I would also recommend to get an external drive, as I can't see any other solution, either...
