Currently, I have all subtitles set forced to on as I enjoy watching anime, but this leads to movies always having subtitles on or tv shows that have them embedded in their mkvs.

What I am suggesting
The ability to have subtitles on or off for a certain directory or a source
or possibly the ability to turn them on/off in smart playlists

If this isn't possible what about the option of turning them on or off on a show by show basis?

Turning them on/off all globally or 1 by 1 seems to be painful in my eyes.

Or maybe something based on the language like show subtitles when audio tracks is a foreign audio but it will not work when audio is not tagged.

That would work great too though I'm unsure if a language based implementation would be as easy.
Currently I've been remuxing all my movies without subtitles just so they don't show up on every movie or on pseudotv where you actually can't turn it off :<
