Cannot Get Any Nightly Builds to Run
#1
Hi,

Eden is working totally fine for me. I am very interested in checking out the new Audio Engine and I've tried to install about 10 different nightly builds and none of them will launch. XBMC crashes immediately and does not display the splash screen.

I'm not sure how to obtain much of a log file if it's crashing right away so I am attaching the dmp file as well.

I've tried deleting all folders and starting from a clean install, nothing I've tried so far seems to work.

Windows 7, Core i3 HTPC.

Any ideas?

Something when querying DirectSound gets wrong on your setup (pProperty->GetValue(PKEY_AudioEngine_DeviceFormat, &varName); returns success but varname is empty). Since the AE experts are MIA I tried to circumvent the problem but dunno if it works as it shouldn't happen. Try the next nightly tomorrow and see how far you come.

I'm using an external USB DAC (Grant Fidelity TubeDAC 09) into my integrated amplifier (Onboard Realtek TOSLINK out > DAC > integrated amplifier). I'm not using USB to connect the DAC as it cannot push 24/96 audio.

Thanks for the clue. I will try to install the nightly from the 27th and see if this works.

Edit. 27th nightly crashes on launch. Not sure if your changes are in that build so will try the 28th and report back with .dmp if I get a crash.

The 28th nighty build runs! Whatever you did fixed the crash on launch.

Thank you!
