Hi,
I'm building a new HTPC/Nas box, and I want to install a good UPnP Server on it, running as a service.
The operating system will be Windows 8, Windows Server 2012 essentials or WHS 2011
thanks
I'm building a new HTPC/Nas box, and I want to install a good UPnP Server on it, running as a service.
The operating system will be Windows 8, Windows Server 2012 essentials or WHS 2011
- I'm looking for a UPnP that can play/transcode all kinf of media files.
I'm using a lot of subtitles (external files or mkv embeded), all my audio library is Flac and I have some DVD and Bluray ISO
- What is the best way: use XBMC as a UPnp client, or standalone using filesystem folders ?
- If running XBMC as UPnP client, it possible to configure the UPnP server to transcode medias for some devices (xbox360, TV, smartphone) but share media "as-it" for XBMC (because it can play natively all files!)
- And do I need to build a XBMC library for .nfo (jackets, authors, fanart, ..), or it's done with the UPnP Server ?
- Any suggestions about OS choice ? (but it should be a windows one)
what about Add-Ins for server editions ? (like my-movies, ...)
thanks
