Playing videos with XBMC throgh the icon on the desktop

Somwtimes I download a video, and I wanna try it first to see if its good enough to add it to the library.
I hate using Windows media player for this, so it will be good if XBMC will be my default media player and only a double-click opens the video in XBMC!

Better idea. Python file that calls the json-rpc and plays the path.

IMHO people who want to double click a file in explorer in order to play it with XBMC didn't get the idea what XBMC is...

I agree with da-anda and Martijn...use another app...

Just my 2 cents...

Always read the online manual (wiki), FAQ (wiki) and search the forum before posting.
Do not PM or e-mail Team-Kodi members directly asking for support. Read/follow the forum rules (wiki).

Yes it does work fine, you just need to assosiate the file type with xbmc, I've had MKV's and AVI's setup like this for ages.
