Sync XBMC et al
#1
I'd like to sync all my xbmc through my QNAP. I'd like to know if I can do this or are their any caveates?

QNAMP --> running web server, sql, phpMyAdmin
QNAP holds a .xbmc that holds all addons and settings for all XBMC clients. The .xbmc is shared via nfs.

XBMC 1--> running Ubuntu 11.10
library is stored on the NAS via SQL
The .xbmc folder located on the NAS is mounted on boot in the default location withinn /home

XBMC 3--> running Ubuntu 11.10
library is stored on the NAS via SQL
The .xbmc folder located on the NAS is mounted on boot in the default location withinn /home

XBMC 3--> running Ubuntu 11.10

I was thinking of taking the same approach for but in this case these applications will only run on one machine. This way if one XBMC craps out for any reason including hardware it's easy to load the same apps on another maching and take off where it was left off.

See MySQL (wiki). You won't want to share the entire XBMC and/or userdata folder, as it will cause database errors (among other things).
