Now it works, for good measure I downloaded from sourceforge notepad++ v5.9 , then opened the textures.xbt, then opened Image Previewer, then went to command Extract xbt and selected output folder and it worked!
Hi.

I'm running Windows 7 and Notepad++ v5.9 too.

lol this plugin is only used to extract textures. Would be easier to make a standalone texture extracter

Yes a small exe which look at textures.xbt in the same directory would be a great idea Wink

Why won't this plugin extract any texture in a subfolder?

I have tried multiple different ways and still get the same result.......I select the texture file(texture.xbt), point it to the folder(Extracted Textures) I want the extracted files to go to and then it extracts all the textures in the root folder of the texture file to the 'Extracted Textures" folder and puts all the empty subfolders in the same folder as the texture file (textures.xbt).

Am I missing something here?

Maybe you should try this standalone extractor :

I know this is a very old thread, I was just wondering if any new development is happening on this plug-in.  I am new to skinning and it seems this plug-in would be great for NotePad++

I think in general Notepad++ is considered too limited to support a real skin IDE.  I think there was been work done on using Sublime Text instead, but that one isn't free (at least v3 isn't).

What do you and other skinners use when skinning?

 I do all my skin mods on a Mac, and I use BBEdit. It's a straight up text editor, so I envy all you IDE running Windows people.  Wink
