Linux Installing XBMCbuntu next to Gnome
#1
I have a working install of Untuntu 12.04, with several useraccounts. What I'd like to do is add another account specifically for XBMC and have that one boot straight into the application.

The easy way would obviously to install XBMC and add it as a startup application, but that wouldn't be fun. Tongue

Is there any way to install XBMCbuntu alongside my other window managers? This way I'd like to start Gnome-sessions from the regular accounts, and an XBMC-session from a special account. I'm pretty sure it can be done, but how?

xbmcbuntu already have a desktop next to xbmc. It is lxde based and the session name is xbmcbuntu.
If you install gnome it will just be another one next to the pre-existing.

Thanks. It's kinda the other way around, though. There's already a full OS with Gnome installed, I am trying to figure ouy how I add Xbmcbuntu as a session-thingy.

xbmcbuntu is a complete operating system. What you want to install is a xbmc session.

I think this still work
sudo apt-get install xbmc xbmc-standalone
