Linux Help using USB DAC with xbmc
#1
Couple of questions

-> I would like to redirect all my music to a USB DAC. However, for watching Video (TV/Movies) with 2 channel audio, I want ot send it to the AVR/TV via HDMI as a DAC would be an overkill. Is it possible without changing the settings every time I switch from music to TV or vice versa?

-> I switch on the USB DAC only when I want to listen to music. If I switch it on after xbmc has loaded, the device is not visible in the audio settings tab and I have to restart xbmc which essentially means a reboot. I would not like to keep the DAC on all the time. Is it possible to scan audio devices when the audio settings tab is selected?

Sorry, but XBMC must be able to see the device when it starts up.

So should I move this to feature suggestions? xbmc is able to track usb drives when attached, a new sound card device should not be difficult.
