Support for matroska audio (.mka)
#1
1) It would be good if .mka could also be added to the list of default audio file extensions since they already play fine in file mode if you add the file extension to advancedsettings yourself.

2) Matroska Audio files (.mka) can support tags, so it would be great if support for this could be added, so the files can be added to the library. One big benefit of .mka is that you can use it as a container for various multichannel audio formats that doesn't natively support tags, like .dts, .ac3, .mlp, .aob and dts wav, without transcoding it to some other format. Libraries for reading such tags are available at https://github.com/Matroska-Org/libebml

3) On a sidenote: Smart Filters for audio files don't have a rule for filtering on the number of audio channels, which would be very useful for separating stereo and multichannel music.

Since work is currently being done on the tag readers, I'm bumping this again hoping that someone involved with those changes will be willing to implement tag reading support for .mka

Information about music tags in matroska can be found here: http://www.matroska.org/technical/specs/...audio.html

foobar2000 can be used for creating and editing the tags

I had a quick look and it doesn't seem that taglib supports mka.

That's unfortunate, but matroska.org does provide libraries for parsing EBML... http://www.matroska.org/news/libebml120.html
