Zotac ZBOX Nano AD12

I own the Zotac AD10. This has the AMD E-350 Brazos chip. Comes with a remote control whch works well from distances of upto and over 20 feet. It is a little noisy, but when mounted behind the TV, you can't hear it. It is smaller than a McDonald's hamburger box. It runs XBMC like a champ and streams HD perfectly. Barebones, costs around $210. (Do the math : try adding up a power supply, motherboard, case and remote control - then shrink it - the cost difference from a 'home built' is small).

The Zotac ZBOX Nano AD12 : This has just been announced today. For me, they are taking the fun out of rolling your own - it is difficult to make the decision to build your own when you can have an HTPC delight for about the same money.

If this turns out to be silent, then I predict that the Hardware build forum will go the same way.

I got the Zbox ID81 from newegg for 209.00 and it came with a free SSD. It makes an awesome HTPC. I made sure I avoided anything that sais e-350 or e-450 as those processors are really slow. Atom should be avoided too.

This does not have any of the above, this is AMD Brazos 2.0 E2-1800 APU. This is AMD's latest offering, but just as nice, it has AMD Radeon HD 7340 onboard. It has adual core 1.7 Ghz processor.

The unit you have there is nice though and what a great price with the SSD !

I also own an ATOM 330, ION based system for 2 1/2 years now. It's playing anything without any problems at all. Only the UI speeds lacks a little "swing" sometimes, but that largely depends on the skin used. PVR (cable) using USB plug also plays without any drawbacks.
Using: Zotac ZBOX ID84, Dual Core ATOM D2550, 2 GB RAM, 40 GB SSD
Base system: OpenELEC 4.2 (XBMC 13.2 Gotham)

Add me to the list of happy Atom + Ion users. I have this Jetway model, and it's played back every bluray rip I've thrown at it without problems. I added 4GB of RAM and a 30GB SSD. The only area I've found it lacking is streaming Netflix HD.
