I can get there just fine with my web browser

This issue has been ongoing for over 60 days. Clearly the issue is not with tvdb as I can access it directly and with other programs. What is really going on? This is a really frustrating issue which is disabling and otherwise useful app.

check your proxy setting in xbmc

Proxy is off

Hmm it says "access restricted" Sad

Then, it's not an XBMC issue. Check your network settings and Internet access.

Down for me too, it seems to be sending empty xml files back when xbmc sends search requests to it.

Hey guys, I found that going to %appdata%\XBMC\addons and deleting my TVDB folder in there made it work for me again, I'm guessing there were maybe cached details which the plugin didn't like?

A very weird turnaround... I've noticed that www.thetvdb.com gives 503 error, but tvdb.com works. I've replaced www.thetvdb.com for thetvdb.com on the .xbmc/addons/metadata.tvdb.com/tvdb.xml file and it's working for me now... (Huh?)

This has been doing my head in Confused It seems to be a known issue though with thetvdb.com http://forums.thetvdb.com/viewtopic.php?...7&start=30

I've also done a find and replace on the tvdb.xml file as para mentioned above and it works now Big Grin

Replacing www.thetvdb.com with thetvdb.com resolves the scan issue. Is scans new entries in my shows, but the episode name and plot remains empty.
Weird. I guess we all will just have to wait till thetvdb.com resolves this.
In the meantime I'll watch a couple of movies Wink

How the hell did you get the tvdb.xml fix to work? I am trying for 3 hours non-stop now, and still no progress. Log file still shows the link to www.thetvbd.com...

Can somebody upload the xml file?

Joost, I just went to C:\Users\*name*\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\addons\metadata.tvdb.com\tvdb.xml opened that xml file and did a find on http://www.thetvdb.com and replaced with http://thetvdb.com

After that it seemed to work. I did try a few other things too (deleting the metedata.tvdb.com folder, updated the addon etc so not sure if that made a difference). I don't think it did though, I think it was the find and replace as if you click on the two link above you'll see that one works and one gives a 503 error.

The find and replace changed about 7 or so entries in that file.

BTW I am extremely new to xbmc so I'm in no way an expert (barely a novice).

Good luck with it, I feel your pain.

That means you forgot the two lines where "(?:www\.)" is used, delete that part too and the epsiode name/plot bug should be fixed too.
