What OS are you using?

And have you configured the advanced options in Speedfan correctly for your system?

this will give you a rough idea on the things to look at in speedfan, but it won't be specific to your system, you will need to trawl google for that specific information.

also you can edit your power settings within Windows 7 itself to fine tune things.

p.s. when using speedfan you should disable fan control in the bios as this often overrides what speedfan is trying to do.

If your system is actually in suspend mode, the fan(s) should spin down. Minimal power is used, primarily to keep the RAM active.

my laptop has absolutely no heat or sound when i put it to sleep and im basically tryin to get my zotac the same. That bios setting must be why nothin was changin. Thanks again.

EDIT:i read somewhere about changin from s1 to s3 in BIOS but never saw it.Just found it there and that did the trick. Never needed speedfan.its under advanced ,ACPI configuration, general for anyone wondering.
