So I am sure you guys here this all the time. I am trying to figure out what parts to get and am stuck on the standard Intel Sandy Bridge v AMD Llano kick.
I have a Wesena Mini ITX-6 case currently for my build and am debating getting the HTPC-FC8-OD-Black or the HTPC-FC8-Black in the future (like December).
My main purpose of this setup is to be connected to a USB DAC and headphone amp for use at work as a music playback device. I plan to control this setup totally without a monitor for most of the time (hopefully). I have the XBMC remote installed on my iPhone to browse everything and control playback. I might someday connect this to my AVR to play blurays via a internal blu ray drive I dont plan on purchasing at the present time but in the future.
I am probably going to install Windows 7 on this computer and then run XBMC on that platform. I am not against running XBMC by itself provided I will have the proper driver support for my Audio GD NFB-5 headphone amp.
I am looking at the following builds:
Llano:
AMD A4-3400
Gigabyte GA-A75N-USB3
CORSAIR 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333
GELID Solutions CC-Ssilence-APLUS 65mm Ball CPU Cooler
Noctua NF-R8-1800 80mm Case Fan
Total cost: ~210
Sandy Bridge:
JetWay JI61G-ITX LGA
Intel Celeron G530
Kingston Value 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1066
GELID Solutions Slim Silence i-Plus (CC-SSilence-iplus) 75mm Ball Bearing CPU Cooler
Noctua NF-R8-1800 80mm Case Fan
Total cost: ~190
Thoughts?
