I've been running xbmc on the same computer for over a year but recently I turn on my TV to find XBMC has become a small window and the desktop showing. Restarting XBMC brings it back up to full screen and I can watch hours of TV but inevitably sometime as it sits idle xbmc once again turns into a window and the desktop appears again.

Any ideas?

I haven't read the log, but my initial suggestion is to press the \ button.
