The most important part right now is to get the required functionality ready for inclusion in Frodo. I have only a few days to get it in shape for inclusion within the October merge window. After that merge window Frodo is expected to enter a feature freeze state.
I still need to iron out the current glitches in the MediaPortal pvr addon before it is really usable and stable but that can wait until after inclusion.
I'm not expecting miracles - I know this is a time-consuming process, guess I'm just (over?)-excited that PVR support is finally in the mainline!
Agreed; getting the XBMC-side of the PVR model in place is far more important than the add-ons themselves - not just because of the freeze deadline, but also because this API is the basis for everything PVR-ish, regardless of backend.
And yes, I'll happily deal with the current MP addon glitches (can't add a manual timer, series recording unsupported, etc) until you get the chance to sort it. Just know this: even in it's current state, it's awesome. More than good enough (I've found at least) to chuck Media Center out in favor of an all-XBMC+MP solution; with the MediaPortal client used on occasion to fill in the few gaps (for scheduling/managing series recordings, for example).
Once again: well done, dude.
