Linux Software shutdown freeze
#1
Heloo,
I have XBMC installed on HDD and working pretty well.

I have one issue now. When Im perform shutdown function (from XBMC menu) then XBMC close everything and continue with shutdown procedure (black screen, xbmc logo, 4 dots). But after few sec it just froze.
Hardware power down button works well and turn PC off completely.
Can I do something to make software power off working again?

sudo shutdown now -h
sudo shutdown now -P

did the same (does NOT power-off PC, it just killed everything and freeze)

Sep 14 18:33:23 xbmc-pc rsyslogd: [origin software="rsyslogd" swVersion="5.8.1" x-pid="686" x-info="http://www.rsyslog.com"] exiting on signal 15.

Concole end with
Will halt now.
Halted

(but none power off)

I can try to edit /etc/modules and adding the line "apm power_off=1
Do you thing that play with GNUB is a good idea here?

You didn't say which distro/version of Linux you're using, but perhaps this thread might help:
