Hey guys,

Does the ATV1 with the BCHD play mkv files?

I've done some reading and I've read mixed reviews on it. Some say its choppy and some say it works no problem.

All of my movies are mkv files so I just want to make sure that its going to work for me.

mkv is just a file container. What matters is the codec inside. As long as the video was encoded with some reasonable settings and not something totally non-standard, the ATV1 (wiki) + BCHD (wiki) should handle the file just fine. All my videos are in mkvs and they all play fine on my ATV1 + BCHD.
