Problem with projector resolution

Dear all,

I installed XBMCbuntu on my pc to use as a server for downloading and sharing my media to other devices, but also to use it as an HTPC.
To idea was to connect it to a small projector that I had and enjoy some big screen movies on my sofa Smile
Unfortunately there was a problem that I couldn't find a way to fix...

The problem was that the system does not change the resolution above 640x480!
The projector can easily got up to 720p (don't remember the max resolution) and I know that because when using Windows 7 that was the resolution I used.

The graphics card I'm using is an Nvidia 9800 GTX+ and I installed the latest version of XBMC (11.10).

Any advice on solving this problem would be nice...

What projector are you using?
Also is it DVI, HDMI, or VGA connected?

The card has DVI connection, but the projector is connected with VGA.
As for the model of the projector...

It is branded by a local shop here in Greece and no longer available...
It was the "Turbo-X XP DS30" projector and can't find it anywhere...
As for the specs, the manual, the site and a .pdf presentation of that model all say different capabilities....

Sorry, but can't find anything else about it... It was a gift so can't complain about it...
