Pauses between songs lasting up to a minute
#1
While I'm playing music (using SMB share) there are frequently long pauses and delays between songs.

This happened with 11.0, 11.04, and I've just tried the latest nightly build (28th of Sept) for IOS, atv2.
When the issue happens, the GUI becomes completely unresponsive.

Here is the xbmc log. Is there any guidance to prevent this problem? I've tried a library cleanup and also removing my library and re-adding it from scratch.

The delay seems quite variable, and is always noticeable. I've also turned off all the options for crossfading, volume gain, and so forth.

Try turning off id3 tag reading in system->music->file lists

glad to see i'm not alone.

i too am experiencing this with NFS connections to my library.

I tried the suggesting, Memphiz, and it helps -- a little. the pauses / breaks are still there. now for me, just little bleeps as the songs change.

Id tag removal has reduced the long pauses, but lots of short ones as the new song starts. It's quite irritating. I've been trying nightly builds to see if it will (eventually ) help. No difference so far.

Thanks for the suggestion - willing to try other things. When a new song queues up there are frequently long pauses in remote response (from a few seconds to a minute).
