OK, apologies in advance as I've probably done something stupid in my settings, but hope someone can help.

When music is playing from the "homepage" there appear to be no visible controls i.e. play/pause, stop, next etc. Is there a way to enable these?

no, they aren´t needed there. press "m" for some nowplaying buttons.

OK, so you HAVE to have a keyboard?

xbmc is designed to work with a remote, mouse control is limited.

OK that's fine, I appreciate that - I assume I'll just have to find the button that maps to the equivalent of the "m" button on this screen.

I *think* you can also use the mouse to go to the top of the screen to get the now playing controls.
