Remap audio to different speakers
#1
Hi,

I have a situation where my surround sound speakers are set up in relation to my TV.

Now if we say my TV is on the north wall, I have a projector screen on the east wall and so when I use the projector screen I would like to remap my speakers in the following way:

Change front left - > rear left
Change front right - > front left
Change rear left - > rear right
Change rear right - > front right

I'm not too bothered about the center speaker at the moment.

Is this possible in XBMC? and if not, do you know of any way to easily to do this in other media players?

Cheers

There is no way to do this in XBMC. I also do not know of any other players that allow you to do that. I think you may have to do that in the system settings if your drivers would even allow that.

MPC-HC can do that iirc

Ahh yes it does. I overlooked that. It is in the Internal filters\Audio Switcher settings. At least that looks like where you would do it,.

Struggling with MPC-HC, I've set it up to remap but it just doesn't do it, anyone know how it should be set up?

Also looking through another thread here

It looks like I could edit the .asoundrc file to do what I need, is this correct?

Sorry, I am of no help here. I only use MPC-HC on random occasions.
