the reason why i'm requesting this is because, i have tons of music videos vobs on my hdd. lately i've been noticing that when i choose to play them, they have lagging issues. they tend to lag unless i set "interlaced handling" from auto to off.
i don't want to have to play a video and set it to off everytime i choose to play a vob file, would like to be able to adjust what it'll be set to on default during video playback from the video settings menu.

yeah thats a good feature request.

i want to force deinterlacing to never.

imho its impossible to correctly determine if a media source if progressive or interlaced without actually stepping through the frames in an editor.

besides, any deinterlacing done on the fly is always going to be low quality and imho its better to run a filter through an editing application to do it in a quality manner.
