This is the first time I can remember any regular poster recommending the A4 APU. I am not sure why now. There's been long agreement here that it's not a good value.
I brought it up to make my point that a4 can be cheaper too...a4 is comparable to G530/G540 very well for 1080p playback and bistreaming audio. For me, my mind have moved on to Trinity and iVy Bridge. I will never build another HTPC with less than 3d capable...

I guess that you didn't look hard enough, a4 is everywhere in this forum. Here are some samples....

-My Setup: Simple HTPC Build
-A regular XBMC'er by the name Voip-Ninja own AMD A4-3400 and he made a video on it- AMD A4-3400 XBMC
-Price/Performance rundown of the new AMD APU's
-Mini ITX AMD A4 3400 Build

>Alienware X51- do it all HTPC
>Simplify XBMC configurations
>HOW-TO Bitstreaming using XBMC
I refused to watch movie without bitstreaming HD audio!

I'm wondering where do you find G540 for $35. It's $49 on Newegg....

That is not going to work for most of us in this forum. You can only get $12 saving inside the store, and there is no MicroCenter at our locations....

If you are looking for Intel pack, there isn't one either, but it's everywhere in this forum and other forums....if you are willing to Google it, it's everywhere...
