I've just acquired one of these and was wondering if with a cheap gt610 in it and a sata bluray it would be any better then an E350 build.

Only caveats are the older P4 - it has a 28ghz HT chip in it, but tops out at 2gb ram.

Will the ram level/speed cause any problems? Will the 610 be ok in the 8x AGP slot?

Expansion slots:
1 x AGP (8X)
1 x 32 Bit/33MHz PCI

You can't use a PCI-e card in an AGP slot. You'll have to find an AGP card. E.g. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLis...srchInDesc=

You'll need to take a pci card, cause there are no fast enough AGP cards available.

This one should be capaple to fit your needs.

Cheers Smile Never really got into video cards until AGP was on its way out - just put in whatever would work so I'm a little bit in the dark about the older tech. That 610 PCI looks good. Will I see much of a dip in performance with 2gb RAM as supposed to the 4gb i have in my current e350 build?

I'm running an Athlon XP 1800+ with 512MB RAM and an PCI 8500gs under Linux. No Problems with h264 encoded stuff in 1080p.
