ok i wonder if this will fly....

since i have seen numerous issues and requests for tv series etc. in nfo files etc. and there have been issues made for having to add other sites for searches can there be a folder nfo file?

example:
brisco county jr..nfo (link: http://imdb.com/title/tt0105932/)
[brisco county jr.]
-[season 1]

the x-files.nfo (link: http://imdb.com/title/tt0106179/)
[the x-files]
-[season 1]
-[season 2]
-[season 3]
etc.

i suppose the only spec if you were wanting to be conditional statement would be the directory would contain no files & just folders. but this could be a 1/2 way resolution for those looking to have descriptions for tv series and its using the existing imdb lookups.

** hold in mind i am not a coder just a bender i make things mimic in behavior to suit my needs or i would handle this.

its a small modification to the existing system, not writing a whole new section specifically to access media data for a folder. the thread your directing to is wanting to allow for accessing the information from a file for a dvd directory which would intale the read functions for the file itself as well as parsing for individual data headers.

what i am proposing is making use of existing functions to do a task similar to that of album info for audio but making it work to do series info for video. not the individual episodes but the entire series itself as a general description for the entire contents of the folder.

far better and less time consuming on the part of the end user than generating 22 nfo files pointing to the same url each having the same link.
