Hi there,

Here is my situation.
I just setup WMP12 to be my UPNP server. Every thing is working great except that I can't get any movie artwork.
I tried almost every option in XBMC(eden) and still nothing.
Can someone shed some light as to what can be the problem?

XBMC can't add UPnP sources to its internal library since they have dynamic file paths.

Is there a way to get the metadata and artwork through other means?

Certainly, and that's one of the great features of UPnP. Basically the server pushes all the metadata through over the UPnP connection, but I'm not sure how WMP handles metadata (or if it pushes it over UPnP).
