how to set a lower cache size for stream to minimize playback delay
#1
Hello!

I have a WiFi-camera that outputs an MPEG4 stream. I can watch the live feed by creating a .strm file with the corresponding URL.

However the "live" feed is delayed by a few seconds. I assume this is because of OpenELEC/XBMC using a cache.

Is there a way to lower the cache size just for this specific stream?

I would like to keep the cache size as it is for any other source file/stream.

I use Raspberry Pi with a recent OpenELEC built but the solutionis probably not platform-specific and that is why I did not ask in the Raspberry Pi sub-forum.

Thanks!

YES there is. it is possible to adjust the cache in the advancedsettings.xml file.

You can find the way to modify this file in the wiki section.

Hope to have helped,

Thank you for the reply.

However I was looking for a file/stream specific setting, not a general one. Is this also possible?

Thank you!
