I didn't set any id in the script so why one would work and the other doesn't is beyond me

MassIV's call downloads clearlogo for every tvshow because dbid=''. However in line 84 of the default.py of the script you call

self.Medialist = media_unique('movie',self.dbid)

which has to be removed if I'm correct. That's why it's working for tv shows and not for movies.

For the record, you can remove dbid=$INFO[ListItem.DBID] from your call as it has no effect. You can scan only everything from the home screen unless Martijn makes DBID available.
