For $10 more you can get the same drive in a USB 3 enclosure. Just take the drive out and it should be good to go: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00834SJU8

According to this Amazon review it's the same drive that Seagate sells in the raw (Barracuda 7200.14 series: SATA 6Gb/s, 64MB cache, 4KB sectors)

I finally got around to installing this drive. For the 1st time ever, i received a DOA drive! Sad

Oh well. Replacement on the way...

I do not use unRAID as a server, but have been running their preclear script off of an Ubuntu LiveCD...it seems to burn the drives in well.
