Linux Signal Issue with a Yamaha RX-V663 - XBMCBuntu Intel GPU
#1
Problem: XBMCBuntu If I boot with the HDMI plugged in to the TV I have video and audio signal. If I boot with the HDMI plugged in to the RX-V663 I don't.

Motherboard: GA-H77M-D3H
CPU: i3-3220 ivybridge
AV Receiver: Yamaha RX-V663
TV: Sony Bravia KL-55EX500

If I reboot the XBMC with the HDMI disconnected then plug it to the receiver I get signal.
If I reboot the XBMC with the HDMI connected directly to the TV I get signal. I can then connect the HDMI to the receiver and I get signal.
I always get the BIOS screen.

I've tried disabling EDID using:
Code:
Option "UseEDID" "False"
Option "IgnoreEDID" "1"
Option "IgnoreEDID" "True"
Option "IgnoreEDID" "on"
Option "NoDDC" "true"
Option "DDCMode" "off"
Option "shadow" "true"
Option "IgnoreEDID" "true"
Option "NoDDC" "on"
Option "UseEDIDFreqs" "FALSE"
Option "UseEDIDDpi" "FALSE"
Option "ModeValidation" "NoEdidModes"
But these seem to do nothing

This is my xorg.conf
Code:
Section "Device"
  Identifier  "Device0"
  Driver      "intel"
  VendorName  "INTEL Corporation"

EndSection

I just tried to add the xorg.0.log when the HDMI is connected to the TV and I get signal but it was too long....

When I reboot with the HDMI connected to the AV Receiver It says "Unsupported Signal check your device output"
I've been trying to disable EDID and set the output using xorg.conf but it doesn't seem to be working. I need to force the resolution I think.
Code:
config/udev: Adding input device HDA Intel PCH HDMI/DP,pcm=3 (/dev/input/event6)
[    14.007] (II) No input driver/identifier specified (ignoring)
[    19.594] (II) intel(0): EDID vendor "SNY", prod id 60929
[    19.594] (II) intel(0): Using hsync ranges from config file
[    19.594] (II) intel(0): Using vrefresh ranges from config file
[    19.594] (II) intel(0): Printing DDC gathered Modelines:

[    19.594] (II) intel(0): Modeline "1920x1080i"x0.0   74.25  1920 2008 2052 2200  1080 1084 1094 1125 interlace +hsync +vsync (33.8 kHz)
Then there's a heap of mode lines

<snip>
Code:

The only (ee) is
Code:
[    14.006] (EE) evdev: Microsoft Microsoft® 2.4GHz Transceiver v8.0: failed to initialize for relative axes.
which is KBD/Mouse related from the look

It says it's using 1920x1080 which my TV should be happy with
Code:

Connected directly to the TV so the HDMI works if I do a ctrl alt F1 log in as root and xrandr I get can't open display. I then did export DISPLAY=:0 and I get No Protocol specified can't open display :0

I got xrandr working by logging in as XBMC instead of root

Hi, i got the same problem( I3 3225, rxv-667 and tv bravia 40x3500).

I'm running debian wheezy, i tried many things to solve it, and it was linux kernel...
I don't know why(some build options ?) but, with 3.2.X, 3.4.X, 3.6.X, i had black screen...(and edid was bad).
I found a kernel 3.5.X and it worked fine.(from siduction).
