rbej:
I followed your link but i didn't find anything useful there.
But it looks like this bug is fixed in the latest version of Raspbmc and the nightly build of XBMC compiled on 27th December. (Still not working with OpenELEC r12788)
There is another problem now. The picture is displayed with wrong aspect ratio, but if I try to watch the same channel in XBMC using the http stream (http://ip:9981/stream/channelid/n), it looks good. It also works OK on my Linux PC, so the problem must be Raspberry Pi + PVR specific again.

I have a broadband internet connection with 10Mb/s upload speed. I could set up a tvheadend server for testing purposes, if any of the devs is interested. Our DVB-T network uses h264 video + aac audio, ~1.5 Mb/s for SD and ~5-8 Mb/s for HD channels. The video resolution is 720x576 for SD and 1920x1080 for HD. The aspect ratio is set with some kind of metadata on the SD channels as needed. The video is padded on the HD channels with black bars when 4:3 content is playing.

Any progress on this? I've tried both Raspbmc (w/ 12.0 final) and Openelec (w/ RC2, and rbej final 3) - still can't watch HD channels. Tried on both 256MB and 512MB Pi's (both with MPEG2 and VC1 licenses installed). All I can get is SD channels working through the "videos" mechanism (setting up an HTSP link as a video source) - no HD at all. Watching HD and SD recordings under the Live TV option works flawlessly as always, so it isn't a codec / PSU / performance issue.
