Whichever is cheaper of Crucial M4 or Samsung 830. Reviews for the Samsung 840 seem mixed.

I think the correct answer here is the cheapest per GB.

I doubt in any real-world situation, and not a synthetic benchmark, you would be able to tell the difference in usage between these drives.

I will have to disagree. BUying a Samsung or intel or Crucial, performance is a LOT better than any OCZ. And longevity is a key factor as well. I have had OCZ's slow down in a matter of weeks, when my Sammys and crucials are still kicking like day 1.

They really are better drives.

As others suggested cheapest of those listed in OP are all good drives.

I'd also let the 840's fw percolate for a while longer though too as also suggested.
If I helped out pls give me a +

A bunch of XBMC instances, big-ass screen in the basement + a 20TB FreeBSD, ZFS server.

How about the 120GB Kingston HyperX 3K?

I picked one up on Black Friday at Newegg for $60. I hope it's ok!

FWIW, I've had great luck with the older Kingston V100 SSDs.

What I meant was, the difference between the drives that the OP had suggested ( Crucial / Intel / Samsung). I consider them to all be in the same league.
