Windows 8 fast boot is fast... sometimes :(
#1
Hi.

I'm running XBMC Frodo, Windows 8 Pro x64 (MCE edition)

System: AMD E-350, 4GB DDR3-RAM, Samsung 830 series SSD (60GB)

I'm using "XBMC Launcher" to replace the explorer shell with XBMC so my HTPC can boot directly into XBMC. And it works! Great Smile

And this fast boot feature makes it happen pretty quick. 25 sec @ cold boot... or... at least sometimes.

Example 1:
a) I boot into my "XBMC shell".
b) Shutdown HTPC using "shutdown" button in XBMC menu.
c) Starting up now takes 50 seconds.

Now the weird part is example 2:
d) After XBMC is up and running I close XBMC, and thanks to XBMC launcher I go directly into Windows.
e) I shutdown Windows the normal way. (using "shutdown")
f) Now once again: cold booting into XBMC - only this time it takes 25 seconds! (instead of 50!)

But WHY?? Huh

It seems very odd to me... Do you have any idea how to solve this issue? Ofcourse I want to boot into XBMC in 25 seconds, without going into Windows first.
