lets analyze the issue shell we?
you click the subtitle button and the addon is not running? based on your attitude i don't believe you but the log would have shown us if you are calling the correct addon, or if the skin button is not mapped correctly to a correct addon ID, or if it is mapped at all.
but since you know better, have a great time trying to get it to work...
I can confirm this bug and made a debug log on Android:
http://pastebin.com/v2LsZiy3
This is on Android (Galaxy note 10.1) and you can see a lot of exceptions in the log, XBMC thinks it's not playing anything
I tried to open subtitles around 6 times, but "nothing happens when you press the button" as the original post implies.
The actual problem starts around
Code:
19:20:26 T:1671575872 DEBUG: 1Channel: Inside Player. Tracker time = 0.0010000000475
...
19:20:34 T:1093420520 DEBUG: : Translating XBMC.RunScript($INFO[Skin.String(SubtitleScript_Path)])
19:20:34 T:1093420520 DEBUG: : To XBMC.RunScript(script.xbmc.subtitles)
19:20:34 T:1093420520 INFO: initializing python engine.

19:20:34 T:1093420520 DEBUG: Unfocus WindowID: 12901, ControlID: 250
..
Anyway, the subtiles screen never appears..
(more detail in pastebin.)
Also, a suggestion, make the debug path adjustable please. On windows people can easy get the logfiles, on Android, /data/data is root only. Not everyone roots, and it's not easy to get the log files for average joe the enduser
