XBMC 11 (Eden). There's a log. Doesn't matter the codec or filetype, all movies play smoothly for 9 seconds or so then completely freeze. It's not XBMC freezing, as I can exit the video and browse XBMC with no issues. It's the playback device itself.

Hardware specs:
Intel i3 2100
EVGA GT 620 2GB
8GB Kingston 1600
Windows 7 x64
Videos are being played from interal HDD only.

Whats Happening?
Start XBMC
Go into Movies
Click Movie
Movie plays for 1-9 seconds
Video stops after roughly 10 seconds

I'd like to note that trying to skip through (using that time bar) a movie stops it dead too, I have to either hit play or fast ward then play in order to get it playing again.

I need this fixed for later today, as this HTPC is a gift for my father who's out of town. If anyone can help solve this problem, I'll either donate on their behalf or give them a payment of thanks via Paypal.

Otherwise, I'm going to have to go with WMC.

Incredibly stupid mistake... I never had anything plugged in for sound while I was working on it. Quickly plugged in a headphone set for poops and giggles, everything ran fine.
