Win Frodo Beta 3 and Yatse for Android working?
#1
Hi,

has anybody successfully run Yatse remote app on Android with Frodo Beta 3? Yatse keeps telling me when I try to configure manually that it needs Eden or higher to work properly. Since a lot of people reported Yatse to work on Frodo Alpha, I wonder if it's me, or if the support in Frodo Beta has been broken.

Anyone successfully running Yatse with Beta 3?

No known problem on Yatse with any beta.

Please check http://yatse.leetzone.org/redmine/projec...wiki/Debug to generate correct logs and report back in official thread or site for easier trackinn.

I can't even get to the advanced settings dialog to enable debugging, because the error occurs during the wizard. how can you quit the wizard and enter the advanced options menu? It obviously detects my XBMC when configured, but keeps telling me "This assistant only supports XBMC in version Eden or higher". The text appears in german language on my Nexus 10, so the original text string may differ.

Is you Xbmc an official beta 3 build or a nighlty ?

Can you send me the Xbmc.log so I can see the headers of Xbmc ? (It should contain something like : Starting XBMC (12.0-BETA3 Git:20121206-ae60d24), Platform: Windows 7 SP1 64-bit, build 7601. Built on Dec 6 2012 (compiler 1600)

Ho Tolriq,

thanks for your support, I will post both my Yatse remote log, and the xbmc log. Yes, XBMC is official Frodo Beta 3, no nightly.

I have tried to register for the Yatse forum, but this provess fails to me, I did not get a mail notification, and I cannot login with the USername/password I created. Also checked my Spam folder and retried with a different address, it does not work on http://yatse.leetzone.org

Yatse Log: http://pastebin.com/SRcLbE9N

And here is the header from XBMC Logfile:

Well I've activated you account on Yatse Smile

The logs shows : Error parsing
java.net.SocketTimeoutException
at java.net.PlainSocketImpl.read(PlainSocketImpl.java:491)

So your phone can't talk with Xbmc, check you IP / port Wifi and all those Smile

Test to open http://ip:port/jsonrpc from your phone browser and see if it works.

When I enter this (like this: http://kent:80/jsonrpc), in Google Chrome on my Nexus 10, I see the sourcecode of that file (beginning with { "description": "JSON-RPC API of XBMC", )

Well perhaps a dns resolution problem in Yatse Sad

I don't know how timeouts are handled for dns I'll look into that. Can you try with a direct ip in Yatse ?

Hi Tolriq,

I tried using the IP, and get the same error message, so I doubt it's a DNS issue.

Remember, there seems to be something detected by Yatse, what is confusing is the error message I get saying that I need Eden or above for it to work.

Well the logs you provided did not show something detected but network communication problem.

Can you provide full Yatse and Xbmc logs with multiple tries ?

Hi Tolriq,

thanks for your effort trying to help, I really appreciate it Smile
First of all, here is my Yatse log, I tried once again using the hostname kent, and then several times connecting using the IP address 192.168.178.23 on my local subnet.

Here is the XBMC log, as you can quickly see, no log entries have been made in the time around 17:25h when I tried connecting with Yatse, but maybe some of the rest may be interesting...

And this is the message I keep getting from Yatse:

Well the logs are quite clear Sad

No request reaches Xbmc and Yatse logs are clear about the java.net.SocketTimeoutException Sad

So this is a network configuration problem the phone can't talk with Xbmc.

What is strange is that the error appears after the first check about presence of /jsonrpc. Perhaps you have something that listen on port 80 on your machine and correctly answer http 200 to every request.
Can you try another port ?
