XBMC 11.0 Git:Unknown (Compiled: Apr 24 2012)
Ubuntu 12.04, up-to-date as of 2012-12-13
i686
Installed from official repos (not PPA)
Steps to reproduce:
* Open XBMC
* Use = and - buttons
* Use volume up and volume down buttons (multimedia keyboard buttons)
What I expect to happen:
* = and - buttons adjust XBMC application volume
* Volume up and down buttons adjust system volume
What happens instead:
* Both affect XBMC application volume only. No way to adjust system volume.
Further investigation revealed that this is the default keymapping, and is by design. So, I would like to override the default mapping. (The reason is that if the system volume is at 80% and XBMC is at 100%, I am effectively at 80% and cannot go higher.)
I have tried creating ~/.xbmc/userdata/keymaps/keyboard.xml as follows, but this just disables the keys completely, rather than passing them through to Ubuntu. Is there any way to achieve this? Another option would be to make XBMC control the system volume rather than the application volume. Is this possible?
