OS X Frodo - Audio issues on playback

Running Mountain Lion (OS 10.8.2) on Mac Mini (mid-2011)
XMBC Frodo RC1

I've installed Frodo RC1. When playing back movies (.mkv, H.264 w AAC or DTS 5.1) I am not getting the full audio playback. I get the background music track and back-left/back-right channels, but not the front two or centre. All files previously worked fine on exactly the same setup running Eden.

Anyone else experiencing this or similar?

For now, it's Eden for me I think

goto audio midi setup in osx and check your speaker config. After that go into xbmc audio settings and verify that everithing (channelmapping and so on) is set right.

I came to the forum with the same issue. I can confirm that Memphiz's response works.

I only had background noise from the movie coming out of my soundbar that is connected to my mac mini via HDMI. I went into audio settings and enabled 5.1 AC3 and that did the trick. I left everything else default except Output to all Speakers.

Thank you Memphiz!
