Android Measy X5 - Looks too good to be true?
#1
I've purchased one of these Android based Media Centers and instantly thought about XBMC.
It really does look ideal for the job apart from the Realtek 1186 chipset. I dont think XBMC supports this yet.

It plays EVERYTHING i've tried so far and SBS 3D is played perfectly.
It supports simple BD menu and plays BD-ISO's and discs.

Problem I'm having at the mo is it says Error Parsing file when I try to install XBMC.
I'm not a coder so I dont know where to start with this but I hope someone does an XBMC firmware for this device PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Smile

This question has been asked before in regards to other MIPS based Realtek and Sigma set top box/BD player based devices, and the developers have always answered "No". The platforms are too closed/proprietary.

if its a dual linux/android box, can you somehow flash OpenELEC to it? Or is the issue that none of the hardware is supported by XBMC and thus won't work?

How much did the thing cost if you don't mind my asking?
